Summary |
Foster dialed up the ringer - Shaggy from Ross's team - as Ross's team was sharpening up for Mixed Nationals. After some serious traffic on Deerfoot our skipper showed up in time to throw the last rocks. Kimmet had a tough night - I think the bro's are fighting!! :-)

| Game
Summary |
Team Ross had their mixed team out tonight with Greg subbing in at second in preparation for the National Mixed in Calgary(CCC)next week. This game had lots of rocks in play with many of them around the 4-foot. Team Rutherford made a nice hit and roll in the first end to set up the first deuce and followed that up with deuces in the 3rd and 6th ends, which were set up by the front end getting rocks in the four foot. The 7th end was one of those ends that sneaked up on Team Rutherford by trying to guard a rock in the four foot, when the guard overcurled and was short of the rings, Team Ross made a great come-around soft hit and made one of those side kickers count for three! However, Team Rutherford came right back with a double for three in the 8th and Team Ross called it quits. Good Luck to Team Ross at the National Mixed!!!!.

Summary |
Team Hill had a different look for this game, team MVP and third Steve Thomas was not available. 2006 off-season acquisition and second Wallace Hollingshead moved up to the third position while Moe Sonier from the Team Hill senior squad filled in at second. Team Hill won the toss thus keeping Wallace Hollingshead 100% coin toss percentage in tact for the season. The team however was confused by having hammer in the first end and promptly gave up two stolen points on a draw which slipped to the back 12 foot. Team Hill tied the game in the second with a duece. Third end was blanked, forth and fifth team Genoway surrendered steals of one. Team Genoway took a single point in the sixth end with a nice draw. Team Hill scored a duece in the seventh to take a three point lead. Team Genoway manufactured a three in the eight end through great shot making, good rock placements and excellent shot selection. Team Hill scored a deuce in the ninth to take the lead again without hammer coming home. Team Hill ran team Genoway out of rock in the tenth to close out the win.

Summary |
3 hours and 20 minutes of sheer joy. Led by cagey veterans Doug Baird (subbing for skip Al Kent who was clever enough to be elsewhere) and The Big Bag of Silk (aka Mick P), these 2 intrepid foursomes traded misses for 11 entire ends, culminating with a thrilling finish as Doug and Adrian tried (unsuccessfully) to make shots in a spot that should have been barricaded with signs reading "Unplayable. Do not use."

Summary |
As Ed Whalen used to say 'this is going to be a ring-a-ding-dong-dandy"...
The very warm Greg Anholt team comes out swinging their way to a solid one in the first end....this would be the last time they would lead until after the 16th rock in the 10th end. Good thing it was a 10 end game. Thank-you Frank.
In 2, Frank makes a very precise, wide-open hit for 4. Frank's team controls the entire game until the magician, Greg Anholt, slithers backwards through a reverse staggered port for a solid deuce and a one point victory. Two questions remain unanswered. 1) Where are all the fans? 2) Why is there a huge hole in my dress pants?
