Summary |
The teams were treated to very tricky and scary ice tonight.
However, Team Anholt, fresh off their huge victory in the Indus Ice-Breaker Spiel, were up to the task. A couple of nice taps in the third end lead to a 6 banger. In the fourth end, Team O'Connor had a chance for 3 but Sean's tap effort was haunted by a ghostly fall, and the Anholt team went on to kick a field goal in five, which lead to handshakes, which lead to drinks, and various other tricks and treats....

Summary |
An epic battle for 6 ends between two young teams -- one just not quite as young as the other. Team Kimmett took control with steals in 4 and 6 set up by a great freeze and hit-and-roll respectively for a 3-1 lead. But they got unlucky in the 7th, when Mickey "The Big Bag of Silk" Pendergast made a delicate tap-back for 4. Everything went wrong for Team Kimmett in the 8th... another 4 for The Big Bag of Silk, and that was enough fun for one night.

Summary |
The Battle of Harvest Hills Golf Course
1st End
Genoway facing 3 Ross counters can't make contact with a Ross counter and slides though the house leaving Ross a steal of 3.
2nd end
Genoway makes a nice draw to the 4 foot for a single.
3rd end
Ross is left with a draw for his 2 which is swept masterfully by Chainsaw and Shaggy.
4th end
Genoway attempts a draw to the 4 foot which comes up just short resulting in a steal of 1.
5th end
After a couple of nice shots by Genoway and a couple misses by Ross team Genoway has a draw for 2 which they make nicely.
6th end
This end is looking like Genoway may have a good steal set up but with the straight ice Genoway can't get his last rock to bury behind cover leaving Ross a soft weight hit against 2. Fill in third Cinnamin Spice makes a perfect line call and actually had the front end listening to her resulting in a Ross single.
7th end
Ross keeps pressure on Genoway throughout the end leaving Genoway with a draw to the 4 foot which just comes up short again leaving a steal of 1.
8th end
Pretty simple end as Cinnamin makes a great double peel on 2 Genoway rocks resulting in the last shot a open hit on a Ross stone which Genoway sticks on to take 1.
Hand shakes and off to the lounge for a drink.
