Playoff format is as follows:
February 20, 2007
The only teams to play that day will be the top 4 teams from the A division and the top 2 teams from the B division.
Team A3 will play B2 and A4 will play B1 at 5:30pm
The winners of these two matches will play A1 and A2 at 8:00pm
February 27, 2007
All games will start at 5:30pm and all teams will play skins while the finals are being played.

Also congratulations to Team MacLachlan this past weekend. Kyla, Lindsay, Donna and Susan qualified for the 2007 Scotties Southern Women's Playdowns to be held at the Brooks Curling Club, January 5 - 8, 2007.

Happy
New Year!
It’s
that time of year again where most of the teams in the CPSL are
gearing up to compete in the playdowns. The CPSL would like to
congratulate the teams of Dean Ross, Greg Anholt, and Dave Rutherford
who qualified for Southern’s of the 2006 KIA Cup Men’s
Playdowns. This weekend District 2 qualifiers 2006 KIA Cup Men’s
Playdowns will be held in Airdrie Alberta, good luck to all entered
CPSL teams.
Good
luck to the Cheryl Bernard team who will be competing in the 2006
Scott Tournament of Hearts Southern Playdown hosted by the Olds
Curling Club.

a '"Goofy" number of teams entered' in the Last Chance playdowns.
CPSL teams managed to take 2 of the final 3 qualifier spot for
Men's Southern playdowns. Apparently Lyle was up to it Jeff, as
Team Anholt and Team Pendergast exhausted the field of 17. Follow
every step of the Men's Southern Playdowns here
as 5 of our finest look to move on to provincials between January
21-24.

Congratulations
to Team Ross for qualifying out of the "C" event at last weekend's
Terroco Classic and making the Championship Round. Team Ross brings
$1800 back to Calgary with Edmonton's Mark Johnson taking home
the $9000 top prize.
This weekend Team Grierson is in Crossfield.

Last
weekend Team Backman ventured to Nipawin, Sask. for a WCT bonspiel,
with Team Earl in Edmonton for the Granite Green and Gold. Both
teams returned with 2-3 records. This weekend six teams are in
Red Deer for the
Terroco Classic. As well, Team Earl is in Abbottsford. Good
luck and good curling to all teams!

This
past weekend saw 7 of 20 teams active on the bonspiel ciruit.
Team Pendergast and Team Ross along with a plethora or retired
CPSLers made the trip to Lloydminster for the Wayside
Inn Curling Classic. Team Pengergast won 3 games and Team
Ross won 2 games, with Pat Ryan coming through the C Event to
take the bonspiel.
5 teams stayed closer, competing at the Inglewood Golf and Curling
Club. Congratulations to Team Johnson (winner of the A event)
and Team Mackey (winner of the B event). Team L. Hill, Team Grierson,
and Team Anholt rounded out the CPSL teams involved at Inglewood.
This weekend Team Backman makes the trek to Nipawin, Sask. for
a WCT bonspiel, while Team Earl takes on the competition in Edmonton.
Good luck to both teams and check back here next week for their
results!

Kleibrink
Wins the Alberta Scott Tournament of Hearts
The CPSL would like
to congratulate Shannon Kleibrink, Amy Nixon, Glenys Bakker, and
Stephanie Marchand for their victory this past weekend at the
2004 Alberta Scott Tournament of Hearts. They advanced to the
STOH that will be held in Red Deer Alberta by defeating Deb Santos
6-5 in the final. To follow their progress at Canadians use the

On the men’s
side, John Morris was the only Calgary team to advance to Provincials
that will be held February 11 – 15 in Hinton Alberta. To

Congratulations
to the Shannon Kleibrink, and her mixed team of Richard Kleibrink,
Judy Pendergast, and Kevin Pendergast. Kleibrink finished the
round robin in soul possession of first place with a record
of 9-2 advancing to the final defeating team Ontario in the
1 vs. 2, page playoff game. Meeting Ontario once again in the
final Kleibrink cruised through with a 9-5 final score. Shannon
became the first female skip to win the Canadian mixed Championship,
great job guys!
On
another note the CPSL would like to congratulate the John Morris
team on their Olympic trials berth by qualifying for the final
of the Canada Cup on January 6.

The Calgary Premiere Super League would like to congratulate Team Morris for their great performance in the Strauss Canada Cup last weekend in Kamloops B.C. John’s team of, Kevin Koe, Marc Kennedy, and Paul Moffat were defeated in the championship final by Randy Ferby.
Also competing in the Canada Cup was team Koe consisting of Dan Petryk, Jamie Koe, Scott Kripps, and Mike Westlund finished off the week with a round robin record of 1-3.
Ladies Competition
Congratulations to Shannon Kleibrink and here team for qualifying for Ladies Provincials that will be held right here in Calgary on January 28 to February 2 2004. Shannon and here team of Glenys Bakker, Amy Nixon, and Stephanie Marchant also competed in the Strauss Canada cup this past week finishing the round robin with a record of 2-2.
Mixed Competition
Shannon Kleibrink and here mixed team are in playing in the 2004 Canadian Mixed Championships this week. Here team of Richadr Kleibrink, Judy Pendergast, and Kevin Pendergast made the journey to Timmons Ontario to try and bring home the Canadian championship. Currently they are ranked first overall in the round robin with a record of 6-1. We all wish continued success.
